Live Life in the Black® · Mind over Money™

Client Intake, Consent & Scope of Services

Please read this before you use the platform.

This describes what we do and don't do, how we handle your information, and your consent to use the Mind over Money™ platform and, where applicable, the clinic. It is provided for clarity and is not legal advice.

1. Who we are, and what this is

This agreement is between you (the “Client”) and Live Life in the Black®, which operates the Mind over Money™ financial-wellness platform and, in partnership with a university, a supervised student financial-wellness clinic. What we provide is financial education and coaching — not licensed financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

2. What we provide

We help you understand and organize your finances and build healthy money habits, including:

3. What we do NOT provide

So there is no confusion, we do not:

We may offer general education on these topics and will encourage you to consult a licensed professional (an investment adviser, CPA, tax preparer, or attorney) for advice specific to you.

4. Educational relationship — no advisory or fiduciary relationship

Using the platform or the clinic does not create an investment-advisory, brokerage, or fiduciary relationship between you and us. Information and coaching are provided for educational purposes. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

5. Student-delivered services and supervision

In the clinic, your sessions may be delivered by trained students (“peer planners”) who are learning the profession. All student work is performed under the supervision of a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Students are not licensed advisers.

6. Confidentiality, and its limits

We keep the information you share confidential and use it only to provide these services. We will not release information that identifies you to anyone outside our program except:

Where the clinic operates within a university, your clinic records are kept separate from your academic records and are not shared with faculty, parents, or the university without your written authorization, consistent with FERPA.

7. Your data, and how we protect it

To help you, we collect financial information (such as income ranges, budget, debts, savings, and goals) and limited personal information (such as your name and email). We protect it on a secure platform with access controls, and we do not sell your information.

What we deliberately do not collect or store: your Social Security number, full financial-account numbers, or bank login credentials. Please do not enter that information into the platform or share it in sessions.

You may request to review, correct, or delete your information at any time by contacting leslie@livelifeintheblack.com.

8. Records and retention

We retain your records for seven (7) years after your last contact with us, after which they are securely deleted. You may request a copy of your Game Plan and records, or ask us to delete your information sooner, subject to any legal retention obligations.

9. Voluntary participation; no guarantee of results

Your participation is voluntary, and you may stop at any time. Because your results depend on your own decisions and circumstances, we cannot and do not guarantee any specific financial outcome.

10. Consent

By checking “I have read and agree” (at signup or below) you acknowledge that you have read and understood this agreement, that the services are educational and not licensed advice, and that you consent to our collection and use of your information as described. We record the version of this agreement and the date of your acceptance.
